Critical meeting in the agreement to increase 700,000 public sector workers
Within the framework of the negotiations that will determine the wage increase of more than 700,000 public sector workers, workers and employers will meet this Wednesday.
At this meeting, the employers are expected to present their first offer.
The process continues in the negotiations of the Framework Protocol of the 2023 Public Collective Labor Agreement, which involves more than 700,000 workers from public institutions and organizations, including highways, railways, special provincial administrations, sugar mills, power generation plants, companies coal mines, universities and hospitals.
REQUEST TO INCREASE THE BASE SALARY TO 15 THOUSAND TL
At the meetings, where TÜRK-İŞ and HAK-İŞ, acting together, represented the workers, eyes turned to the Turkish Union of Public Employers in the Heavy Industry and Services Sector (TÜHİS), which represents employers.
Faced with the demands submitted by the workers on January 20, TÜHİS is expected to bring its first proposal to the table at the meeting to be held on Wednesday, April 5.
At the meetings, the joint demands determined by TÜRK-İŞ and HAK-İŞ, on behalf of the workers, include “increasing the monthly gross base salary to 15 thousand lira and then adding a 15 percent social participation to all salaries.” .
A 45% INCREASE IS REQUESTED FOR THE FIRST 6 MONTHS AFTER THE BASE FEE
After adding the base salary increase and the social assistance subsidy, a 45 percent increase is requested for the first six months, and a 5 percent increase and the inflation difference for the second, third, and fourth semesters each one.
In addition, additional payments are requested from all public workers, including those from municipalities and special companies of the provincial administration.
HE IS VERY INTERESTED IN OTHER CONTRACTS
On the other hand, as of August 1, the negotiations of the Collective Bargaining of the 7th Term will begin, which covers the years 2024-2025, in which the rate of increase in the salaries of approximately 3.5 million public servants will be determined. and 2.5 million retired public servants. .
In this sense, the 2023 Framework Protocol for Collective Public Work Agreements, which concerns public workers, is also important to determine the framework of the collective agreements to be signed in the private sector, especially the collective agreement of civil servants. (AA)
