Central bank approves earthquake aid
General Assembly of the Central Bank was held in Ankara. With the decision taken in the General Assembly, the transfer of 30 billion lira, which was previously promised, for the distribution of profits and earthquake relief was officially approved.
Consequently, the Central Bank will pay a tax of 22 thousand 103 million liras to the Ministry of Finance on its profits. The Central Bank will also transfer 32.618 million lira of the 71.948 million lira after-tax profit to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance under the name of dividend.
A reserve fund of 7.419 billion lira will also be paid to the Treasury. The center will send 30 billion lira of its profits to AFAD for earthquake relief. The reserve aid money was based on Article 523 of the Turkish Commercial Code. Thus, the total payment for earthquake aid with the Treasury will reach 92 thousand 140 million liras.
