3.8 million tourists arrived in the first 2 months of the year

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced the number of foreigners and citizens entering and leaving by February 2023.

According to provisional data obtained from the General Directorate of Security; The number of foreigners who visited Turkey in February 2023 increased by 21.35 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 1,870,414 people.

There was a decrease in the number of tourists on a monthly basis. While 2.5 million 967 foreigners arrived in Turkey in January, this number decreased to 1.8 million in February.

In the first two months of the year, a total of 3.8 million tourists arrived in the country.

RUSSIA SENT THE MOST TOURISTS

Russia ranked first with 12.17 percent (227,695) in the list of countries that sent the most visitors to Turkey in February 2023.

Bulgaria ranks second with 8.07 percent (150,873), and Germany ranks third with 7.92 percent (148,169); These countries were followed by Iran and Georgia.

In the period January-February 2023, Russia ranked first with 13.09 percent (507,513) in the ranking of the country that sends the most visitors to Turkey.

Bulgaria ranks second with 8.20 percent (318 thousand 11) and Germany ranks third with 7.43 percent (288 thousand 124); These countries were again followed by Iran and Georgia.
