Kremlin: Turkey’s gas hub is a complex project that takes time
Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov told reporters today that Russia and Turkey will continue to work on the gas distribution center project.
In the statement made by the Kremlin, it was stated that the plan to establish a natural gas center in Turkey is a complex project that requires time.
According to the TASS news agency, Kremlin spokesman Peskov said: “Complex situations are inevitable for Turkey’s natural gas hub. We will follow up and continue to cooperate with Turkish partners,” he said.

After the Russia-Ukraine war, while European countries were trying to drastically reduce the import of Russian natural gas within the scope of sanctions, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the idea of establishing a natural gas hub in Turkey.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also announced that the two states would work on the issue. While Ankara welcomed this initiative, he stated that a major part of the infrastructure to set up a natural gas transit hub and trading hub in Istanbul is ready.
