Prices hit before Ramadan

One On the one hand, citizens experiencing the excitement of the month of Ramadan, on the other hand, are struggling with price increases. The livelihood of citizens, who have faced a 30 percent increase in meat prices in recent days, is getting bigger.

Although the economic crisis is increasingly affecting the public, in recent months there has been an increase in traffic in the markets of the Agricultural Credit Unions, known as ‘cheap’. The change in the prices of legume products in the markets of Agricultural Credit Cooperatives drew attention. In this context, the prices of legume products are the ones that have increased the most since August 2022.

There have been increases approaching 100 percent. In said period, the price of 450 grams of Crédito Agrícola Flor Honey increased by 35 percent, the price of 1 kilo of baldo rice increased by 40 percent, and the price of 1 kilo of beans increased by about 50 percent. Since August 2022, the price increase for two kilograms of yogurt has approached 65 percent.

The chickpea became the champion of the walk in the markets of Agricultural Credit Unions. In August 2022, the price of a kilo of chickpeas was 17.9 TL. In March this year, the price of the same product increased by almost 95 percent to 35 TL. The price of 1 kilogram of red beans was 33.9 TL in August 2022. The price of the product was 51.9 TL this month. The price of two kilograms of Osmancık rice increased from 43.9 TL to about 75 TL.
