Credit and card debts exceed 1.7 trillion lira

As of March 10, the total individual loans and credit card debts of citizens increased by 28.915 million and reached 1 trillion 745.807 million liras. According to the data of the weekly bulletin of the Agency for Banking Regulation and Supervision (BDDK), the amount of consumer loans in total debt with banks increased by 23.317 billion lira in a week to 1 trillion 226 billion 166 million of lire. While 792.98 billion liras of such credit debts consisted of consumer loans, 374.339 million liras were housing loans and 58.845 million liras were vehicle loans. In the same period, citizens’ personal credit card debts increased by 5.598 billion liras and reached 519.641 billion liras. The increase in citizens’ debts was observed mainly in consumer loans. From the week of March 3 to the week of March 10, consumer loan debt increased by 17,678 lira.
1 month debt increase 117 billion lira
When data for the week of March 10 and the week of February 17, which spans a period of about a month, are compared, the increase in total individual loan and credit card debt for citizens in this process was 116 billion. 885 million lire. In the aforementioned period, the amount of consumer loans in total debt increased by 85.376 billion liras in one month and reached 1.226.166 billion liras. In this period, the increase in personal credit card debts was 31.509 billion lira.
