Milk production increased in January, white meat production decreased
While the dairy farmer sends his animals to slaughter due to the loss per liter, TURKSTAT announced that milk production has increased.
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the production of milk and dairy products for January 2023.
Consequently, the amount of cow’s milk collected by commercial dairy companies increased 4.4 percent in January compared to the same month a year earlier.
The amount of cow’s milk collected by commercial dairy companies, which in the previous month was 795,383 tons, increased 9.9 percent in January to 873,974 tons.
BUTTER PRODUCTION DECREASED 17.3 PERCENT
Milk production for consumption, which in the previous month was 134,216 tons, increased 8.1 percent in January to 145,104 tons.
In January, the production of cow’s cheese increased by 17.2 percent, that of ayrán by 13.1 percent, that of drinking milk by 9.3 percent, and that of yogurt by 5.8 percent compared to same month of the previous year; Butter production decreased by 17.3 percent.
DROP IN CHICKEN MEAT AND EGG
On the other hand, another data announced today by TURKSTAT was Poultry Production.
Consequently, the production of chicken eggs increased 3.3 percent in January with respect to the same month of the previous year; Chicken meat production decreased by 3.8 percent, the number of chickens slaughtered by 6 percent and turkey meat production by 16.2 percent.
Chicken meat production, which in the previous month was 201,123 tons, decreased 4.6 percent in January and went to 191,807 tons.
The production of chicken eggs, which was 1,000 million 745 million 979 units in the previous month, decreased by 1.1 percent in January and became 1,000 million 727 million 224 thousand units.
