The negotiation of 700,000 public workers for an increase continues
In the negotiations where the salaries of more than 700,000 public sector workers will be determined in the period 2023-2025, eyes were on the proposal of the Turkish Union of Public Employers of the Services and Heavy Industry Sector (TÜHİS), which represents businessmen at the negotiating table.
The process continues in the negotiations of the Framework Protocol of the 2023 Public Collective Labor Agreement, which involves more than 700,000 workers from public institutions and organizations, including highways, railways, special provincial administrations, sugar mills, power generation plants, companies of coal, universities and hospitals.
The break between the meetings, in which TÜRK-İŞ and HAK-İŞ acted together and represented the workers’ segment, ended due to the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş.
The part of the workers, who met last week with officials from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security in order to expedite the process since all their contracts expired as of this month, began to wait for TÜHİS’s proposal in the face of the lawsuits he filed in January. twenty
EMPLOYER MAY SUBMIT PROPOSAL THIS WEEK
TÜRK-İŞ President Ergün Atalay, who met President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the AKP headquarters on March 9 to speed up the process, said after the visit: “We want the public contracts of 700,000 workers to be rescinded as soon as possible before the election. This is the demand of the society, this is the demand of the TÜRK-İŞ administration”. he had made a statement.
After meeting with President Erdoğan, Labor and Social Security Minister Vedat Bilgin, Atalay requested that the process be expedited and the contract concluded within this month.
On the other hand, it has been learned that TÜHİS, which represents the employers at the negotiating table, has started to evaluate the demands of the worker segment, and is expected to present its proposal to the worker segment within this week if the works they are complete. (AA)
