Debt deferral for farmers affected by earthquakes is reviewed

A regulation was made in the decision regarding the use of low-interest loans by Ziraat Bank and Agricultural Credit Cooperatives (TKK) of agricultural producers in some provinces damaged by earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş.

The Presidential Decision on the subject was published in the Official Gazette.

With the decision, the Presidential Decision on the deferment of loan debts was amended in the scope of decisions on the granting of low-interest loans by Ziraat Bank and TKK to agricultural producers in some provinces damaged by the earthquakes of 6 February.

Accordingly, the phrase “in the affiliated provinces and districts of Adana, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye and Şanlıurfa”, which regulates the scope of the decision, was changed to “in areas declared disaster areas.

NO INTEREST WILL BE APPLIED DURING THE DELAY

In the article that regulates the deferral of loan debts, the phrase “waiting period” was modified by “the period until the receipt of the credits to be settled.”

During the deferral period, no interest will be applied to agricultural loan debts deferred by the Bank and TKK, from the due date/due installment/account period.

All unpaid investment loan installments will be deferred for one year, but interest-free deferral will be applied for installments in the term until they are credited to the Credit Account to Settle and for installments due within 1 year from February 6

In the rest of the installments, the current interest rates and discounts will continue to be applied.

The decision came into effect on February 6. (AA)
