New decision on holders of generation licenses in provinces declared in a state of emergency

Legal entities holding generation licenses in provinces where a state of emergency (OHAL) decision has been made or disaster areas have been declared due to earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş will be exempted from their obligations regarding certain services.

The decision of the Board of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) on the subject was published in today’s edition of the Official Gazette.

Consequently, for the cities where the decision of the State of Emergency has been made due to the earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023 or has been declared a disaster area, the legal persons holding the generation license are obliged to participate in the primary frequency. control services and secondary control of frequency in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation of Complementary Services of the Electricity Market It has been decided that the production facilities that are likely to be exempt from their obligations in relation to said services for the dates February 6 of 2023 and February 7, 2023.

The generation facilities of legal persons holding generation licenses, which are in operation in said cities and which are obliged to participate in the reactive power support service in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation of Reactive Power, will also be exempt from their obligations.
