Pronouncement of the Minister of Labor on the uprising meeting of public workers

Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Labor and Social Security, said: “Our work on the framework protocol of the collective agreement on public workers had started. We suspended it because of the earthquake, but we will do it without loss of rights, ”he said.

Bilgin attended the 10th Ordinary General Assembly of the Eurasian Metalworkers International Federation (UAMIF) held at a hotel.

Recalling that they have given new rights to public employees with 3,600 additional indicators that will benefit especially in their retirement, Bilgin pointed out that contracted officials have also been recruited.

TÜRK-İŞ: OUTSOURCED WORKERS CONTINUE FOR STAFF

Türk-İş President Ergün Atalay also said that they are satisfied with the start of the legal process regarding the hiring of temporary workers.

Stating that the problem of staffing contract workers continues, Atalay said: “Almost all of our demands related to working life have been met. The expectation of the personnel of the subcontractors in the SEEs and of the subcontracted workers outside the scope of the public sector continues”. saying.

‘WE ARE 60% OF SOCIETY, BUT THERE ARE NOT 3 WORKERS IN THE ASSEMBLY’

Noting that workers, unemployed and retirees make up about 60 percent of society, Atalay said, “Türk-İş’s membership is larger than many parties, but no one asks us anything. It is our fault as workers. Will we always cry to solve our problems? We are 60 percent of society, but there are not three workers in the Assembly. We are the ones to blame. We have to defend our work. If we can’t do that, we’ll keep crying.”

KAVLAK: ORGANIZED FIGHT SOLUTION

Pevrul Kavlak, president of the Turkish Metal Union, affirmed that the solution to the problems of the working class lies in international unity and organized struggle, and said that for this the workers must strengthen their unity at the national and international levels.

Emphasizing that workers and poor people pay more because of the economic crisis and wars, Kavlak said:

“The cost of wars is heavily paid by those who live from their work, the workers, the unemployed and the poor. So, now we must say a truth out loud; If there is war in a country, there is no food, no work, no workers, no unions, no rights and freedoms, no human life. That is why we must defend peace both in our own countries and in the whole world, as the founder of my country, the Great Leader Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, emphasized.” (AA)
