In a press release, Jumbo announces that Colette Cloosterman-van Eerd will become chair of the supervisory board. She succeeds her recently deceased father and founder Karel van Eerd, and the discredited family continues to play an important role in the Brabant supermarket chain.

When Frits van Eerd’s house was raided, tons of cash were found and Van Eerd was taken into custody. The OM announced that the money laundering would occur through, among other things, real estate transactions, automobile trading and motocross sponsorships.
The OM investigation did not focus on the Jumbo company, but as a result of the case Van Eerd temporarily resigned as senior executive at Jumbo. Van Veen temporarily took over as CEO, but that became permanent yesterday. Previously he served as chief financial officer and commissioner at the company.
