The law, which has been waiting for years, was approved by Parliament. With the publication of the law in the Official Gazette, EYT affiliates who apply for SSI until the end of March will be entitled to receive their pension as of April. However, due to a lack of staff, it was claimed that the number of EYT members who will receive a pension and be paid in April will remain at around 100 thousand, and the remaining hundreds of thousands of EYT members can wait for months. .

EYT WORKS AT SGK

SGK sources specified that the institution retires an average of 400 to 450 thousand people a year, which corresponds to an average of 33 thousand to 37 thousand people a month. Stating that the retirement process of perhaps 100,000 EYT members per month can be completed with overtime, authorities shared that the file review of more than 1 million EYT members, who are expected to apply first place, it can take months. SGK officials described the process as follows:

“We estimate that at least 1 million of the 2.25 million people who will be entitled to retirement in the first place will file a petition. Let’s say 1 million people applied in March. With the existing personnel, in April the files of perhaps 100,000 of them can be completed and the monthly linking process can be concluded. The files of more than 900,000 members of the EYT remain in the following months. If 100,000 are tied up in May, 800,000 people will be transferred to June. A monthly lump sum is paid retroactively each time the transaction is completed. For example, an EYT member whose file is completed in October will receive an accumulated pension of 7 months from April”.

It is claimed that the waiting period for EYT members will be longer due to decreased work performance during Ramadan and the possibility of slowing down work in the summer holidays with the next two holidays.
