Demand for Equality for Traders on EYT

TESK: Equality must be guaranteed for traders on EYT

The President of the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), Bendevi Palandöken, demanded that a normative unity be achieved in the field of the steps taken regarding the Elderly in Retirement (EYT) and pave the way for the merchants to retire

In his written statement, Palandöken argued that the absence of merchants and artisans in the EYT regulation, which was discussed and accepted in the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, was a major shortcoming.

‘THE UNIT OF THE STANDARD MUST BE PROVIDED’

Emphasizing that traders and artisans must be included in the regulations related to EYT, Palandöken said:

“To regulate the retirement conditions of merchants and artisans, the number of premium days must be equalized and the norms unit must be ensured. It goes against the principle of equality in the Constitution for SSK members to retire in 7,200 days, while merchants retire in 9,000 days. This situation creates a great grievance for our merchants. The most important feature of the union of rules is that the members of the Pension Fund, SSK and Bağ-Kur have the same rights. These rights must be provided for all segments without wasting time.” (AA)
