Eurozone grew 0.1 percent in the last quarter of 2022
The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) has updated the main data on the growth rates of the last quarter of the EU and the Eurozone for 2022.
Consequently, the seasonally adjusted Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the 19-member Eurozone rose 0.1 percent in the fourth quarter of last year compared to the previous quarter.
THE EU ECONOMY FAILED
In the euro area, GDP increased by 1.9 percent in the last quarter of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021.
Seasonally adjusted GDP in the EU, on the other hand, was flat in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared to the previous quarter, increasing by 1.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
GROWTH PERFORMANCE OF EUROPEAN ECONOMIES
Compared with the previous quarter, GDP decreased 0.2 percent in Germany and 0.1 percent in Italy in the latest quarter, while it increased 0.1 percent in France and 0.2 percent. in Spain. On an annual basis, GDP increased 0.5 percent in France, 1.1 percent in Germany, 1.7 percent in Italy and 2.7 percent in Spain.
