The number of earthquake victims staying in hotels reached 100 thousand
Based on Kahramanmaraş 7.7. After two earthquakes of magnitude 7.6 and 7.6, approximately 100 thousand people were accommodated in hotels in 21 provinces out of 10 provinces in the earthquake zone with the organization of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, AFAD and the Turkish Federation of Hoteliers (TÜROFED) and their affiliated regional unions.
According to the latest data from 10 provinces in the earthquake zone, the number of earthquake victims staying in hotels in other provinces, especially Antalya, reached 100 thousand, with the organizations in the hands of TÜROFED and AKTOB, ALTİD, MASTOB, KETOB and regional unions in other regions of Turkey. In addition to hotels, more than 5,000 earthquake victims were placed in guesthouses and social facilities belonging to many public institutions and organizations, such as teachers’ houses and police houses in Antalya.
Most of the earthquake victims were transported to many cities, especially Antalya, Muğla and Mersin, by planes and buses, some with their own vehicles, with the organization of AFAD. According to the data of the Antalya Governor’s Office, it was indicated that the number of people who came to the city and settled in hotels and guest houses belonging to public institutions exceeded 55 thousand.
HOTELS CLOSED OPEN
According to information obtained from TÜROFED, Antalya, Alanya, Manavgat, Fethiye, Bodrum, Marmaris, Cappadocia, Kuşadası, İzmir, Çanakkale, Denizli, Afyonkarahisar, Isparta, Mersin, Balıkesir, Bursa, Ankara, Bolu, Samsun, Diyarbakır, Van and se they created certain quotas in open hotels in the districts of these cities. Especially in the Mediterranean and Aegean regions, hotels closed due to the winter period were opened and put into operation.
TÜROFED President Sururi Çorabatır said that the number of earthquake victims who have been accommodated in hotels in 21 provinces in the earthquake zone, under the coordination of AFAD and Governorates, has reached 100 thousand so far. Çorabatır said: “We are opening the hotels that are temporarily closed due to the season. We are going to get through this process together,” he said. (DHA)
