Loan volume increased by 75.4 billion lira last week
According to the weekly bulletin published by the Banking Supervision and Regulation Agency (BDDK), the sector’s loan volume increased by TL 75.38 billion as of February 3. In said period, the total volume of loans increased from 7 trillion 801 billion 294 million liras to 7 trillion 876 billion 674 million liras.
Total deposits in the banking sector (including interbank) increased by 5.985 billion lira last week. Total deposits in the banking sector, which rose 0.1 percent in the week in question, became 9.197.896 billion lira.
CONSUMER LOANS ARE 1.13 TRILLION LIRA
According to the data, the amount of consumer loans increased by 12.83 billion liras as of February 3 and amounted to 1.132.418 billion liras. 363.929 million liras of such loans consisted of housing loans, 53.812 million liras for vehicles and 714.676 million liras for consumer loans.
In the said period, the amount of commercial installment loans increased by 4.32 billion liras to 980.448 million liras. Banks’ personal credit card receivables rose 2.6 percent to 491.808 million lira. 248.594 million lira of personal credit card receivables were in installments, and 243.214 million lira were without installments.
INCREASED LEGAL EQUITY
According to weekly BRSA data, non-performing loans in the banking sector increased by 114 million liras compared to the previous week and reached 161.936 million liras as of February 3. A special provision of 141,000 million 314 million liras has been allocated for the aforementioned non-performing loans.
In the same period, the legal actions of the banking system increased by 7,988 million liras and reached 1,740,746 million liras.
