The single additional income tax of large companies in Russia is on the agenda
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov told reporters in the capital Moscow that many companies in Russia, especially in the energy sector, achieved significant profit rates last year.
For this reason, Belousov stated that they consulted with companies on the issue of additional income tax, saying: “We are discussing a one-time voluntary contribution with companies. They delivered very strong (financial) results, especially in the first three quarters of last year.” saying.
Expressing that the one-time additional income tax does not mean an increase in the tax rate, Belousov said: “This means collecting tax revenue for once. We are talking about large companies that will contribute voluntarily”. he said.
The budget deficit in Russia stood at 3.3 trillion rubles (approximately $48 billion) in 2022, or 2.3% of GDP.
Analysts say the country’s budget could run a deficit of more than 5 trillion rubles this year if Russia’s oil cuts are not cut. (AA)
