The watertight resists, the product returns from the scale
In the Aegean, tobacco growers continue to resist buying companies offering low prices.
The manufacturer, who found the low price in the Karacasu district of Aydın, withdrew the product from the scale. In the Eşme district of Uşak, tobacco was not even brought to the scale. This resistance from the farmer allowed the buying companies to increase the price from 55 TL to 70 TL.
Before the purchase in Denizli, the farmers announced that they would not sell products for less than 100 lira, while the buying companies increased their offers from 55 lira to 70 lira. The cost of the tobacco weight for the producer is 80 TL.
THEY SAID ‘AT LEAST 100 TL’ IN THE RENTAL THEY ARRANGE
The disagreement between tobacco producers and the companies buying the sector in the Aegean continues.
Some time ago, thousands of tobacco manufacturers gathered in Denizli’s Kale district and decided not to sell their products, which were priced at 55 lira, less than 100 lira at the demonstration.
After the rally that took place 20 days ago, Aegean producers preferred to keep their tobacco in their warehouses rather than sell it.
It was revealed that in some centers where purchases were made, the companies set the purchase price at 70 lira.
In the Karacasu district of Aydın, producers saw the price of 70 lira for their products, which they brought to the scale with tractors and returned to the warehouses.
In the Eşme district of Uşak, growers who did not like the price did not bring their tobacco to the scale. It became known that shopping in the Beyağaç, Tavas and Kale districts of Denizli will start from tomorrow.

5 thousand producers from Muğla, Manisa, Aydın and Uşak, who arrived in Denizli, called the government at the demonstration they held on January 23 and demanded a minimum price of 100 TL.
‘COST EXCLUDING LABOR 80 lire’
Tobacco manufacturers pointed out that the cost per kilo of their products, excluding their labor, reached 80 lire.
Saying that costs have increased a lot with the rises in the prices of agricultural inputs, fuels and energy, the farmers said: “The buying companies are trying to impose the contracts they made according to the conditions of months ago. We will not sell our products below 100 lira,” they said.
‘WE DO NOT GIVE THE PRODUCT BELOW COST’
the maker of Kaleli Muttalip İbileme; “We have been saying it for months. We will not give the product below its cost. Today we fulfill that promise. We will not sell products that cost 80 lira for less than 100 lira. Our friends who entered the scale in Karacasu today were given a price of 70 lira, they did not sell it. In the next few days, the producers will go to the scale, but if the price is not what we expected, we will not sell our tobacco”.
Özgür Keleş, one of the producers who reacted to the buying companies on social media, said:
“What does it mean to ignore what has happened here for two months? What does it mean to be indifferent to this rebellion while waiting for support in the struggle for the existence of the manufacturer? We are not saying that we will not give away our products.
The products in that box are yours, but we want what is rightfully ours. Is it so hard to understand? We are nothing without you, and you are nothing without us. I think you have the answer you need. We have no doubt that he will do whatever it takes to ensure that the process does not become more difficult in the future.”
Producer Faruk Kavuklu said: “Karacasu and Eşme did what was necessary, they did not hand over their tobacco. Kale, Tavas and Beyağaç it’s our turn… It’s time to unite all of us. We do not deliver tobacco for 70 lire.”
