This summer, the cheapest vacation for two will start from 25-30 thousand TL.
Over the past 2 years, the cost of a vacation week has increased at least 3 times.
While the cost of a one-week summer vacation for two people in a 3- or 4-star hotel was 6-7 thousand TL in 2021, this amount increased to 10-15 thousand TL last year.
Speaking to Sozcu.com.tr, the president of the Alanya Tour Operators Association (ALTID), Burhan Sili, said that this summer, the cost of a week’s vacation for these two people will vary between at least 18-25 thousand TL.
Bülent Bülbüloğlu, Vice President of the Turkish Hoteliers Federation (TÜROFED), said that a one-week holiday for two in the South Aegean this summer will start with at least TL30,000.
100-300 PERCENT INCREASE IN DOMESTIC TOURISM
Bülbüloğlu, who is also the president of the South Aegean Association of Tour Operators and Hoteliers (GETOB), explained that from 2023, holiday prices in the domestic market have increased by 100 percent; Sili, for his part, explained that these rates can reach up to 300 percent in his own region.
“Our sales prices have now increased. Bülbüloğlu said that prices in the 2023 season will increase by 100 percent compared to the 2022 season. Although it varies by region, last year the cheapest one-week vacation cost 15 thousand TL, this year it will start from 30 thousand lire.
‘PROFITABILITY WILL BE LOW, OCCUPANCY WILL BE HIGH’
Stating that all costs such as energy, personnel, food and beverages have risen by 300 percent in the past year, Bülbüloğlu said, “The increases in our input costs have reached very serious levels. We will have a good year with tourists coming from abroad in terms of occupancy this year, but I don’t think we will have a successful 2023 in terms of profitability.”
TOURIST SAFETY CONCERNS DURING ELECTIONS
Stating that the critical issue for the domestic market is the upcoming elections, Bülbüloğlu said, “Our early booking requests for after May on the domestic tourism side are doing well compared to last year, they have increased. But the critical point this year is the elections. If there is no problem in terms of security, tourism will be good this year. Because tourism likes a safe environment. It is the smiling face of the country, it is the side of peace”.
ALTID President Burhan Sili also stated that they predicted that they will have a better season than 2022 by looking at early bookings, and that the positive picture will continue as long as there is no sudden development in the world and in Turkey to interrupt this optimism. .

Sili said: “This year, the frequency of going on vacation and the number of days of stay may decrease in direct proportion to the electoral process and economic conditions. Those who take two vacations take one, and those who take 10 vacation days reduce it to 6 days,” he said.
Noting that while the average number of days spent in the domestic market was around 4-4.8, this number decreased to 3.8-4.2 last year, Sili explained that the number of days that foreigners stay is at least 6-8 days due to long flights, although it varies by market.
