Nabati: Our goal for 2028 is 90 million tourists.
Treasury and Finance Minister Nabati made a statement on tourism statistics for 2022, which was posted on his social media account today.
Stating that despite the global difficulties after the epidemic and the Russia-Ukraine War, the tourism targets were achieved by 2022, Nebati said:
“In 2022, a total of 51.4 million people visited our country with an increase of 71.1 percent over the previous year, and within this scope, 46.3 billion dollars of tourism revenue was obtained. By taking Turkey’s tourism potential further in 2022, we ensured that our tourism revenue will exceed $38.9 billion in 2019, the golden year of tourism.”
Minister Nebati emphasized that with this admirable success in tourism, a new era has begun in the tourism sector and the country has almost strengthened its new position in the super league and made the following assessments:
“In order for our country to become a brand in tourism, we will continue our activities to expand tourism in many fields such as gastronomy, nature, health and culture, as we have done so far. By raising our goal to 2023, we are targeting 60 million tourists and $56 billion in revenue. Our goal for 2028 within the scope of the Turkey Century is 90 million tourists and 100 billion dollars of revenue.” (AA)
