An investigation by the Competition Authority against Vestel
The Competition Authority opened an investigation into the allegation that Whirlpool, which was exiting the Turkish market following the court decision, transferred its licensed services to Vestel with a secret agreement.
The Competition Board, following the decision of the 8th Administrative Lawsuit of the Ankara Regional Administrative Court, alleged that Whirlpool Ev Aletleri Pazarlama ve Ticaret AÅž and Whirlpool Beyaz EÅŸya Sanayi ve Ticaret AÅž, which were exiting the Turkish market, had transferred their authorized services to Vestel Ticaret AÅž with reassessed confidentiality agreement.
THE INVESTIGATION WAS NOT OPENED
In the preliminary investigation carried out as a result of the aforementioned complaint, it was resolved that it was not appropriate to open an investigation regarding the allegations that are in the file in accordance with article 41 of Law No. 4054. Subsequently, this decision was annulled by the 8th Administrative Cases Division of the Ankara Regional Administrative Court.
Having discussed the information and documents in the file at its meeting on January 5, 2023, the Board decided to open an investigation against Whirlpool Beyaz EÅŸya Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Åžirketi and Vestel Ticaret Anonim Åžirketi, complying with the requirements of the said Court’s decision. .
