Nabati: There is only one way to get rid of currencies
Nureddin Nebati, Minister of Finance and Finance, made remarks on inflation and exchange rates in his presentation to AK Party Deputies.
Underlining that Turkey is a net importer of oil and natural gas, Nebati said; “Oil and natural gas prices need to decline for our effectiveness in fighting inflation to be rapid,” she said.
Adding to his words that inflation is coming down as volatility in exchange rates is minimized, Nebati said; “We will gradually guarantee price stability,” she said.
‘TO EXCHANGE, GOLD OR REAL ESTATE’
On the deputies’ question about dollarization, Nebati said: “There is only one way to get rid of the currency. Increase the belief that it will no longer be possible to earn income in foreign currency and, in doing so, create alternative areas.
Stating that many people in Turkey do not want to benefit from the interest instrument, Nebati said, “The law on Islamic financial institutions should be passed as soon as possible. Turkey is a Muslim country. When you do not invest interest, two areas remain. It will be tied to foreign currency, gold or real estate,” he said.
