Description of ‘fixed price until the end of February’ from wholesalers
Ahmet Acar, president of the Istoc Entrepreneurs Social Assistance and Solidarity Association (ISTOÇDER), stated that they will fix the prices of wholesalers until the end of February.
Acar, stating that Istoc is the place where the heart of Istanbul’s commerce beats, pointed out that a third of the city’s exports are made here.
Affirming that 42 professional groups operate here, including hardware, glassware, automotive, and stationery, Acar made the following statements:
‘WE REVEAL OUR STRENGTH’
“All these sectors have high added value for Turkey. Istoc is the second largest shopping center in Europe and its region.
Our center, which directly generates employment for 100,000 people, indirectly generates employment for 400,000 people.
As İSTOÇDER, where wholesale trade predominates, we have decided to keep our prices, which were before the New Year, until the end of February.
. As you know, the reflection of the minimum wage increase in prices would be 5 percent, 10 to 20 percent depending on the range of products and sectors, and 25 percent depending on labor. However, showing our resilience, we have decided to set our prices so that retailers do not reflect increased prices to consumers.” (AA)
