They rotted and sold the financial camp.
Vote In order to meet the growing need for money, the last land and land held by the state began to be quickly sold one after another. Public lands in the most valuable tourist and investment regions of Turkey, such as Marmaris İcmeler, Çeşme Dalyan, Didim Altınkum, İstanbul Tuzla and Ankara Çayyolu, were sold by decision of the president. Among the valuable land approved for sale is the finance ministry’s education and recreation facility in Marmaris, which was left to rot after the decision to sell was made 16 years ago and its gates closed to civil servants and retirees. The highest bidder, Türkiye İş Bankası, bought the 18,467 m2 facility on the waterfront with 545 million lira.
PURCHASED BY THE BANK
The training and recreation facility, where financial workers and retirees had a lottery vacation 16 years ago, was first put up for sale in 2006 through privatization. The facility, which is located on the seafront of Icmeler, the most popular tourist center in Marmaris, includes 39 single-storey buildings with a capacity of 98 beds, restaurants, sports and social areas, and its gates were locked and closed to its use as soon as it was put up for sale. Despite having bid for 16 years, the facility could not be sold and was the subject of numerous lawsuits. Although the facility, which was deprived of civil servants and retirees, eventually fell into disrepair, some areas were also occupied. Some of the trees in the facility were damaged in the Marmaris fire in the summer of 2021.
