Sad news for retirees! Another AKP and MHP rejection
In the Plan and Budget Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, IYI Party deputies submitted a proposal on “bringing the pension lower to the minimum wage” to be regulated in the proposed Law.
The justification for the proposal was as follows:
* The problems of our retirees are an important part of the problems of economic life. It must be the most basic requirement of the welfare state to ensure that our retirees, who spend most of their lives working and then obtain the right to retire, reach a happy, peaceful and economically prosperous level of old age.
FEATURED HUNGER LIMIT
* In the economic conditions of a country where the hunger limit is around 8,130 TL, it does not seem possible for our retirees to continue their lives at the minimum level with a salary of 5,500 TL, which is considered the standard for them.
*To this end, our proposal aims for the lowest pension to be equal to the minimum wage, which is accepted as the lowest wage.
REJECTION OF AKP AND MHP
The IYI Party’s proposal was rejected with the votes of AKP and MHP.
