It was pointed out that with these prices the decreases in milk production could be limited, but that in the next 6 months there could be new price increases, one after another.

Noting that there was a 20 percent price difference in the price of raw milk between December and January, Sencer Solakoğlu, president of the All Dairy Meat and Cattle Breeders Association, stated that the recommended price is no longer applied in the market and that it may take a year or two for the supply part to recover.

Explaining that the danger experienced in milk last year will play out in meat prices this year, Solakoğlu said: “We believe that the declines in milk production will stop. This is reflected in the price of meat and will be reflected. We said that there will be a 30 percent increase in meat by January and prices will reach 130 TL for meat with bones. The National Dairy Council was unable to raise the price under pressure from the Ministry of Finance. The free market had to intervene. For a while, the price of cheese exceeded the price of meat. This was not because cheese was expensive, but because meat was cheap. So many cows were slaughtered that there was an artificial offer and price. Now the price of meat will go right where it should be,” he said.
