1 million people came for hair transplant in 2022

The president of the Turkish Health Tourism Association (TÜSATDER), Dr. Servet Terziler said that half of the 4 billion dollar turnover achieved in 2022 was obtained from hair transplant services.

“Assuming that the foreign exchange left by an average hair transplant patient is $2,000, we can say that 1 million people came to Turkey for hair transplant in 2022,” Tailors said.

Stating that the health tourism sector spent 2022 in a very productive way, Sastres said that 4 billion dollars of service exports were made in general hospital services.

‘JOKES ARE MADE ABOUT TURKISH MOVIES’

“They started making jokes about Turkish Hairlines from Turkish Airlines. When we fly abroad, we see people wearing headbands all the time,” Terziler said, adding: “These are really proud jobs. Of course, if we can provide a quality service. We can say that we have exceeded 500 million dollars in billing in dental services. We have reached the level of 400 million dollars in cosmetic surgery, ”she said.

HIGH ATTENTION TO SPA TOURISM

Stating that foreign tourists also show serious interest in hot spring tourism, Terziler emphasized that the revenue from hot spring tourism has reached a figure of more than 10 billion dollars.

Stating that hair transplantation is the locomotive in general health services, Tailors said: “Dental services are also going mainstream. We see dental clinics opening in many parts of Turkey. If we can increase the quality of service, the health tourism sector will grow much more. The near objective of the health tourism sector is to reach a figure of 20,000 million dollars. At the point that we call basic healthcare, we have a goal of $5 billion in 2023.”

Stating that Turkey had a very good experience in crisis management in the health field during the epidemic period, Tailors made the following assessments:

DEMAND BUILT ON THE DENSITY CAUSED BY THE PANDEMIC IN 2022

“Turkey’s health infrastructure is very strong. We have increased the total quality to the highest level with our doctors and allied health personnel. The whole world had the opportunity to observe it. We are currently receiving a very serious demand from the European continent. Studies are carried out to ensure that foreigners receive health services in our country through insurance agreements between states.

Istanbul is taking firm steps towards its goal of becoming the world capital of health tourism. During the Covid period, we experienced a stalemate with the forced closure of crossings. However, the pent-up demand at the time caused density in 2022. We are also very hopeful for 2023.

Our country breaks export records in all areas. The fact that we are on the eve of celebrating 100 years of our Republic gives us all a different motivation and illusion”.

‘CONTROLS MUST BE ADJUSTED’

Stating that the Health Ministry should tighten inspections, Terziler said: “Businesses under the stairs should not be opened. This type of business spoils the image of our country and reverses the current positive wind. We see this a lot, especially in hair transplantation.”

“There is a section called bag maker. Terziler said: “They go abroad and do hair transplants illegally and tarnish the name of the Turkish doctors’ nurses.”

“We started training through associations to increase the quality of the service. Training processes continue in clinics and hospitals. Difficulties can only be overcome with education.

Robotic hair transplantation has started to be done in Turkey at the moment. We started doing business all over the world. We can increase the quality of health services with technology and innovation”. (AA)
