The CPI rate at the end of the year will be factored into the rate increase for private schools.

The decision on the increase in fees for private schools entered into force after its publication in the Official Gazette.

According to the decision, the rate of salary increase will be determined taking into account the year-end CPI rate and not exceeding the rate determined by the Ministry of National Education.

MINISTER ÖZER ALSO ANNOUNCED

Noting that they determined the fees for private schools for 2023 considering the PPI-CPI ratios, the Minister of National Education, Mahmut Özer, said the following on the subject:

* “As the Ministry of National Education we are going to make a change this year. We decided to price for 2023 based on the Consumer Price Index instead of the Producer Price Index.

* In the context of both the low inflation expectation in 2023 and the support of our parents in this process, as the Ministry of National Education, we decided to set the prices for 2023 at 65 percent.

* We spoke with representatives of private education institutions about this decision. First of all, I have to point out that; All friends here expressed their opinion that this price is insufficient.

* I am grateful to you for freely sharing your ideas. But we, both the government and the Ministry of National Education, decided to make the new decision taking into account inflation expectations in 2023 and the consumer price index.

* We made this decision to support our parents. We will apply the decision from tomorrow. I wish all of our students and parents good luck with our new decision.

*Although the representatives of the sector do not accept this rate of increase, we will overcome the difficulties that the new application brings by supporting each other, both from the ministry and from private educational institutions”.
