The inflation monster also stole baby food

CHP Manisa MP Bekir Başevirgen said: “Prices of baby food sold with a lock have increased by 36-125% in a month” and said:

– The government has reduced the VAT on these products from 8 to 1 percent to reduce the prices of baby food. Almost a year has passed since the decision, and since the VAT reduction is no longer valid, food products have also increased. Access to food for families is now even more difficult. When families living in extreme poverty want to buy food, they have to choose low-nutrient foods, which are sold in markets and are popularly called pudding.

THE 21 PERCENT CAN NEVER REACH

– 200 grams of these foods sell for 26 lire, even in markets known as the ‘cheapest’. 300 grams of food with high nutritional value are sold for 100 lire and are enough for a baby for 3 days. The monthly cost of these foods for families is 1,500 to 2,000 lira. While 74 percent of families have a hard time buying baby food, 21 percent can’t get to formula at all.

With the latest price increases, depending on the brands, before New Year, 80 TL baby food is 180 TL, 112 TL baby food 153 TL, 137 TL baby food 214 TL, 209 TL babies 419 TL, 230 TL baby food, on the other hand, increased to 320 TL. 200 grams of food was 26 lire.
