Bulgarian tourist density in Edirne before the New Year
Edirne was inundated with Bulgarian tourists who came to shop on New Year’s Eve.
As queues of vehicles formed at the Kapıkule border gate opening into Bulgaria, there was a density in the city’s public bazaars and historical bazaars.
Bulgarians, who came to Edirne for New Year’s shopping, formed long lines of vehicles to enter the country from the Kapıkule border gate to do their shopping in the early hours.
The places preferred by the visitors were the city market, the historical bazaars and the shopping centers.

ITEMS PACKED IN BAGGAGE FROM CLOTHING TO FOOD
Traders in the city market, which is a frequent destination for Bulgarian tourists, said they were pleased with the intensity experienced.
Almost all the parking lots near the market were full of vehicles with Bulgarian license plates. The Bulgarians left the market with many items, from clothing to food, and filled the trunks of their cars.
Selahattin Akmeşe, one of the market traders, who said his business was good before the New Year, said: “Everyone is fine. Can anyone say something bad at this time? There are contributions from Bulgaria, not so much from Greece.” he said. (DHA)
