AKP members enjoy tea
While 245 million cups of tea are consumed daily in Turkey, ÇAYKUR has losses every year. ÇAYKUR, of which 3 out of 5 members of the board of directors are AKP members, closed the year 2021 with a loss of 503 million 840 thousand TL. In 2021, TL 1,314,499 of salaries and benefits were paid to corporate executives.
In 2021, 38 million 139 thousand 849 TL went to advertising and 1 million 14 thousand 565 TL to festivals and events. A car was rented for 176 million lira. A gift box of tea was bought for 527 thousand TL.
In ÇAYKUR, whose general directorate is Ziya Alim, brother of AKP Rize Provincial Chairman İshak Alim, Ekrem Yüce, a member of the board of directors, is also AKP Sakarya Metropolitan Mayor, and Hikmet Ayar is a former AKP Rize deputy. The report of the Court of Accounts submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey contained the following information:
558 MILLION INTEREST: The organization used business loans of TL 16 billion from different banks in 2021 and repaid the capital of TL 15 billion. Financial debts of TL 4.2 billion transferred from 2020 increased by 26 percent to TL 5.2 billion by the end of the 2021 period. In 2021, the amount of accrued interest or financial expenses due to loans obtained from commercial banks was 588 million TL.
RECEIVED 100, LOANED 106: The debt refinancing ratio, which expresses the loan amount made by ÇAYKUR to repay the loan principal and interest debt, stood at 106 percent in 2021. ÇAYKUR has borrowed 106 units in 2021 to repay 100 units of capital and interest on debt.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS: A board member fee of TL 486,190 was paid to ÇAYKUR President and General Manager Yusuf Ziya Alim and board members Zeki Karaoğlu, Erdinç Hatinoğlu, Ekrem Yüce and Hikmet Ayar. The total amount of remuneration and similar benefits provided to the President, members of the Board of Directors, the General Manager and Deputy General Managers in the current period is TL 1,314,499.
