Pension crushed by inflation

How much will the pension be? Has the SSK and Bağkur pension been determined?

Even as inflation has started to drop with the base effect, life problems continue to mount and millions of retirees are wondering what raise they will get in the new year. The pension, which will be released after the inflation data to be released by TUIK, faces the risk of remaining low due to inflation.

HOW MUCH WILL THE RETIREMENT SALARY BE?

The increase in inflation is around 3 percent in December, and if there is no additional increase for the election year, retired civil servants will have to settle for a dwarf salary increase of 18.6 percent, and workers, merchants, and retirees peasants of 17.5 percent. .

EXPLANATION OF THE INCREASE IN RETIREES OF ERDOĞAN

Following the cabinet meeting chaired by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the statements on the pension are as follows:

* As we always say, we are determined to reflect our country’s income and wealth to all segments of our nation, especially employees. We act on this understanding when determining the minimum wage, expanding the range of social assistance and expanding the loan packages we provide to businesses.

* We will also increase the salary of civil servants and retirees with this approach. We are soon completing the preparations to meet the retirement expectations of our employees, for whom we have resolved many of their demands, from the additional indicator to the hiring of contract employees. Hopefully our wish is to remove this item from the agenda before the New Year.

DO NOT EXCEED 18.5 PERCENT ACCORDING TO THE OFFICIAL INFLATION

If inflation rises to around 3 percent in December, 6-month inflation will be 17.5 percent. In this case, officials and retired officials will increase by 18.5 percent, including the difference in inflation plus an 8 percent increase due to collective bargaining. Retired workers, merchants and farmers will receive a 17.5 percent increase. With these increases, the lowest salary of a civil servant of 8,462 liras will be 10,027 liras, the lowest pension of 5,832 liras will be 6,911 liras and the lowest pensioner will be 3,500 liras. it will be 4 thousand 112 liras.

After the net minimum wage increased by 54.7 percent to 8,506 TL, millions of retirees remained well below this amount. Currently, the salaries of approximately 1.5 million retirees are rounded up to 3,500 lira, which is considered the lowest pension. It is also looking forward to whether this threshold will be changed in the new period.

THE FAILURE TO LIVE WILL INCREASE IF ADDITIONAL TIME DOES NOT ARRIVE

The eyes and ears of millions of retirees, whose livelihoods are increasing exponentially with each passing day, have turned to the increase coming from the government. If the government does not increase retirees by 55 percent as the minimum wage, but only takes into account inflation from the Turkish Statistical Institute, about 90 percent of retired civil servants, workers, tradesmen and farmers will fall below of the minimum wage of 8 thousand 506 liras. Retirees, who are still above the minimum wage, between 5,501 and 7,200 lire, will feel the difficulty of living more deeply by falling below the minimum wage for the first time.

36.7 ADDITIONAL HIGH CONDITION POINTS

TurkStat calculated that consumer inflation rose 14 percent in the 5-month period from July to November of this year. When December is added, which will be announced on January 3, 2023, 6-month inflation is expected to be around 17.5-18 percent.

According to calculations made by SÖZCÜ, all retirees who still earn less than 7,200 lira a month will succumb to the minimum wage if there is no further increase at the beginning of the year, but only up to the TUIK inflation rate. For example, the pensions of retirees who still receive 5,500 liras and have the same income as the minimum wage will increase to 6,490 liras from January, while they will fall 2,016 liras behind the minimum wage. For this retiree to be equal to the minimum wage in 2023, as in 2022, an additional increase of 36.7 points will be required on top of the TÜİK increase of 18 percent. In the same way, if inflation stays around 18 percent taking into account TUIK inflation, retirees who still receive 6,000 lira a month will fight the cost of living with 7,080 lira in January, and those who he still receives 7 thousand liras with 8 thousand 260 liras.
