Cigarettes increased by 2 lira

Drinks and cigarettes count the days until the price hike that will fall in the New Year. According to the law, the fixed and minimum fixed amounts of SCT in cigarettes are increased at the national producer price rate (D-PPI) every 6 months.

MINIMUM INCREASE OF 2 TL

The D-PPI for the last 6 months is expected to be around 26 percent at least. If a higher rate does not come out, the cheapest cigarette that still sells for 29.5 lira will increase by at least 2 TL. The cheapest cigarette will be 31.5 lira in the new year. Likewise, alcoholic beverages will increase due to the tax increase. President Tayyip Erdogan will make the final decision on the walk. It is curiously awaited whether Erdogan will raise the prices of cigarettes, which is one of the most important factors directly affecting the AKP votes, before the elections.

6-month producer inflation will be analyzed

TURKSTAT calculated that the D-PPI increased by 22.56 percent in the last 5 months of the year. If producer prices in December increase around 3 percent, 6-month producer inflation will be 26 percent. In this case, the fixed minimum amount of the tax on a pack of cigarettes will increase from 15 lira 83 cents to 19 lira 95 cents.
