Penalties for illegal workers and foreigners increase

Pursuant to the relevant articles of the International Labor Law No. 6735, administrative fines are imposed on employers and foreigners if foreigners work or are employed in Turkey without a work permit.
The fines paid in this context were increased at a revaluation rate of 122.93 percent by 2023.

Thus, employers who employ foreigners who do not have a work permit in the new year will pay an administrative fine of 35,815 liras for each foreigner, 28,655 liras for foreigners who work independently without a work permit, and 14,318 lire for dependent foreigners without a work permit.

Foreigners who work for their own account and with indefinite leave and employers who employ foreigners who do not comply with the obligation to notify them in time, will be penalized with 2,378 liras for each foreigner.
In case of recidivism in these actions, the administrative fines will be increased by a bit.

154 THOUSAND FOREIGN WORK PERMITS IN 9 MONTHS

Applications for work permits in Turkey are made through the application system of the General Directorate of International Workforce of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, which is integrated with e-government.
While last year 221,409 requests were made to the system, 168,103 of them were answered positively.
From this year to October, 154,846 of the 225,311 foreigners who applied received work permits. AA
