Nabati: We have broken the neck of inflation since last month
Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati spoke at the presentation of the New Century Izmir Economic Congress.
Giving messages on inflation in his speech, Nebati stated that the decline in inflation will become evident in the coming months.
The highlights of Nabati’s speech are as follows:
“On February 17, 100 years after the 1st Izmir Economic Congress, we will organize a broad-based Economic Congress under the auspices of our president.
Although high inflation has hurt us all, we have broken our necks since last month with the measures we have taken and the positive evolution registered.
INFLATION MESSAGE
With expectations improving, we will see inflation decline more significantly in the coming months.
With the Protected Currency Deposit, which we put into operation at a time when our financial stability was threatened, we reduced exchange rate volatility and lowered the foreign currency deposit rate, which was over 70 percent in December 2021, to less than 50 percent.”
