Minister Bilgin: I think a compromise on the minimum wage will be reached on Tuesday
Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Labor and Social Security, spoke during his visit to the Erzurum Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Minister Bilgin, who also shared the latest developments on the minimum wage and EYT (Aged Retirement), said: “The Minimum Wage Commission will meet again next Tuesday. “I hope that in this meeting a compromise will be reached in the negotiation of the minimum wage,” he said.
“A MINIMUM FEE TO REPAIR DAMAGE”
Minister Bilgin said: “We want our employers and companies to have a salary level that they can afford. If there is no company, there is no employer, there is no worker. We think this compromise should set a minimum wage level that gives our workers a sigh of relief and undoes the damage. We will compromise on a wage level that our workers expect and that our employers can afford,” he said.
LATEST SITUATION IN EYT
Minister Bilgin affirmed that the technical studies on EYT are nearing completion and said:
“This is very common, especially for insured workers in the private sector, since records were not kept in the digital environment in the past. We continue working on the transfer of these records to digital media so that there is no loss of rights.
Today, we have a busy job at consulates abroad. Our Minister of Finance, Nurettin Nebati, also stated that preparations were made in this regard for the granting of loans for the payment of severance pay. The lawsuit arrived, we did the work and we settled the loan issue with Nureddin Bey.
We will submit it to the Supreme Assembly for decision after we finish it in December and hopefully finish the technical work. The works are nearing completion.”
