This year, the volume of M&A transactions in Turkey reached $11 billion with an increase of 8 percent compared to the previous year, reaching the highest level in the post-pandemic period.

According to the 2022 M&A report announced by Deloitte Turkey, the highest number of transactions ever was made with more than 400 transactions this year.

15 percent of the transaction volume came from the Turkey Wealth Fund-Türk Telekom transaction, which was the largest transaction of the year at $1.65 billion.

“The technology, mobile and internet, e-commerce and gaming sectors were the most attractive sectors for venture capital,” the report said. In this area, the investments of Getir ($768 million), Dream Games ($255 million) and Insider ($121 million) stood out.

On the other hand, the value of transactions made by private equity funds decreased significantly from $2.3 billion in 2021 to $390 million in 2022. Private equity funds and other financial investors made a total of five exits. (Reuters)
