Eurozone industrial production fell in October

Industrial production in the Euro Zone decreased 2 percent in October compared to the previous month. The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) announced seasonally adjusted industrial production data for October for the European Union (EU) and the Euro Zone.

Consequently, industrial production in the 19-member euro zone decreased by 2% in October compared to September and increased by 3.4% compared to October 2021. While industrial production in the EU decreased by 1.9 percent in October compared to the previous month, increased by 3.7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

THE LARGEST DECLINE WAS IN IRELAND

Among the EU countries, the highest monthly increase in industrial production was determined in Slovakia with 1.3 percent, Lithuania with 1.1 percent and Greece with 0.5 percent. The biggest decline was seen in Ireland with 10.7 percent, Luxembourg with 4.4 percent and the Czech Republic with 3.7 percent.

On an annual basis, industrial production increased the most in Ireland with 53.2 percent, in Denmark with 10.7 percent and in Malta with 7.2 percent, while it increased by 5.8 percent in Estonia and 3.8 percent in Luxembourg and Belgium fell 2.8 percent. (AA)
