CHP Minimum Wage Proposal Announced

While the work of the Ministry of Labor to determine the minimum wage continues, a proposal of 10 thousand 128 lira has arrived from the CHP.

CHP Vice President Veli Ağbaba announced that his party’s minimum wage proposal is at least 10,128 lira, saying:

“Wages are melting even before they reach the worker’s pocket, along with rising bills, gasoline, diesel, bread, rice, meat, milk, and vegetables. According to our calculations, our minimum wage proposal for 2023 is at least 10,128 liras, considering both the missing increase in the first 6 months of the year, and the loss of the minimum wage due to inflation so far in the second semester. of this year, and the expectation of inflation at the end of the year. In addition, tax brackets must be reorganized, wage earners must not be weighed down by a heavy tax burden. The first tax bracket after the minimum wage should be reduced to 10 percent.”

1744 EURO IN GERMANY, 374 EURO IN USA.

Ağbaba said: “The minimum wage is 1,744 euros in Germany, which is jealous of us, 1,645 euros in envious France, 831 euros in neighboring Greece, 503 euros in Hungary of their favorite Orban and 374 euros in Turkey. There are countries that are below us, they are Bulgaria with 363 Euros and Albania with 268 Euros. Turkey has become the storehouse of cheap labor for Europe and almost the world, why should the Germans, French, Belgians and Hungarians be jealous of us?

“With the current minimum wage of 5,500 lire, you can buy 162 kilos less of rice, 350 kilos of potatoes, 252 kilos of bulgur, 25 kilos less of chicken meat, 147 kilos less of tomatoes than the previous minimum wage of 4 thousand 253 lire. 4,253 lira was higher than 5,500 lira in terms of purchasing power. Thanks to the AKP’s economic policy, the science of mathematics was also reversed. AKP also defies math. The important thing is not to raise the minimum wage, but to increase the purchasing power of the minimum wage and other wages.”
