They give the first figures of the minimum wage

What will be the minimum wage? Fiscal negotiation for the increase in the minimum wage…

For the minimum wage meeting, a commission of 15 people made up of 5 people representing the worker, the employer and the government held its first meeting. The second meeting will take place on December 14.

HOW MUCH WILL THE MINIMUM FEE BE?

The negotiations of the minimum wage determination commission began with the worker’s request for an ‘increase plus tax bracket’ and the employer’s offer of ‘inflation plus social participation’.

Türk-İş President Ergün Atalay announced that they will start negotiating the minimum wage at 7,785 lira, which is the hunger limit.

With this statement, it has been made sure that Türk-İş will not accept an increase rate of 41.5 percent or less.

Türk-İş is expected to evaluate offers such as 8 thousand TL (45.5 percent), 8 thousand 250 TL (50 percent) or 8 thousand 500 TL (54.5 percent).

BUSINESS OFFER IS AT THE LEVEL OF 7 thousand 500

At the negotiating table, employer representatives are expected to mention 6-month inflation plus the 10-15 point social participation formula.

This shows that even with the social participation of the IPC + 15, the increase offer will remain around 30-35%, and the employer will negotiate a maximum of 7 thousand 425 TL.

However, it is stated that this year the minimum wage will be determined by the electoral environment and not by the negotiating table.

MINIMUM WAGE EXPECTATION 7 thousand 845 TL

In the statement issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security; The results of the investigation initiated in the framework of the studies to determine the minimum wage in force in 2023 have been released.

The common expectation of the public, made up of citizens of various professions who are neither workers nor employers, for the minimum wage for 2023 was 7,845 lira,” the statement said.

TÜRK-İŞ SAID ‘AT LEAST 7 thousand 785 TL’

Türk-İş President Ergün Atalay spoke ahead of the minimum wage negotiations that will start today.

Atalay said: “We will not sit at the table with 5,500 liras, we will sit at the limit of hunger (7,785 liras). Let’s see what figure puts the employers and the government. If there is a figure that we do not agree with, we will not be at that table and we will not sign it,” he said.

HOW IS THE MINIMUM WAGE DETERMINED?

The Minimum Wage Determination Commission, consisting of 15 people, including five representatives of the employee, the employer and the government, determines the minimum wage. The Commission meets four times in December, based on custom, as part of the work to determine the new minimum wage.

The commission, chaired by one of the members determined by the Ministry, meets with the participation of at least 10 members and decides by majority vote. In case of equality of votes, the president’s side is considered to have the majority.
