Plan to establish a Russian ‘Natural Gas Union’

Russia is considering establishing a ‘Natural Gas Union’ to support natural gas shipments to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and to supply energy to other countries, including China.

The story in the Russian news agency Interfax was based on the statement of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

Novak did not provide information on the operation of the union in question or the stage of the negotiations.

On the other hand, Chinese President Xi Jinping said in a statement on Thursday that China is willing to seek closer partnership with Russia on energy.

According to the news by the Chinese state news channel CCTV, Xi said that the cooperation between the two countries will contribute to energy security in the message he sent to the China-Russia energy forum. (Reuters)
