Turkey is at the bottom of the world league
TurkeyAfter its transition to the Presidential System of Government, it fell to the lowest ranks in the world in terms of law, justice, poverty, freedom of expression, unemployment and inflation. CHP Adıyaman MP Abdurrahman Tutdere revealed the situation that Turkey has reached in the world ranking with figures.
Speaking as the Presidential Budget was discussed in the Parliamentary Committee on Planning and Budget, Tutdere said: “The Presidential System of Government has created an unhappy, poor Turkey with young people looking for a future abroad.” Tutdere said: “Since 2018, our country has been ruled by the Presidential System. Unfortunately, all the objections we raised 4 years ago have come true. We said that this system would weaken the legislature, destroy democracy and create problems in justice. Our country is currently struggling with a serious economic crisis and the main reason for this is this system. First it destroyed justice, without justice there was no control, and without control democracy disappeared. In a country without democracy, unemployment, depression and poverty began to run rampant. And people say that the reason is this system.”

■ Turkey is ranked 116th out of 140 countries in the 2022 Rule of Law Index and last in its own region.
■ It ranks last among the 41 OECD countries in terms of political rights and freedoms.
■ Today it ranks 129 out of 149 countries in terms of freedom of expression.
■ The trust rate in the country’s judiciary dropped to 38 percent.
■ 22 per cent of the files at the ECtHR consist of applications from Turkey.
■ Turkey is the country with the second highest number of convicted and detained persons in Europe.
■ Turkey is ranked 149 out of 180 countries in the World Press Freedom Index.
■ There are thousands of investigation files opened for violence, torture and mistreatment against women.
■ There are 44 thousand processes and investigations for insults to the President.
■ There are 23 million 546 thousand executive files.
■ According to TUIK data, there is 85 percent inflation.
■ There are more than 10 million unemployed in the country.
■ There are millions of people who are paid below the poverty line. 14 million people can live thanks to state social benefits. Turkey has the lowest minimum wage after Albania.
■ Turkey is ranked 96th out of 180 countries in Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index.
