Minister Ersoy: Cesme Plan will be clarified over the weekend

Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy stated that work on the Çeşme Tourism Project is continuing and plans will be clarified by the weekend.

Ersoy, at the press conference held at the Provincial Presidency of the AK Party within the framework of his party’s activities “City Meetings Towards 2023”, conveyed his wishes to the people of Izmir for the magnitude 4.9 earthquake, whose epicenter was Buka district. from Izmir, which occurred at 03:29.

Ersoy stated that he came to İzmir for visits and examinations within the framework of “City Meetings towards 2023”.

Expressing that he will also inspect the Old Tekel Factory, whose restoration and renovation work continues, Ersoy emphasized that they are moving quickly on the project, saying:

“Our goal is to complete this project and put it into service by the end of March. As you know, there are cultural path festivals started by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism all over Turkey.

Five provinces were included in the scope of the Cultural Route Festivals in 2022, and based on the decision we have made, we want to expand the cultural route festivals to all our big cities, especially the 7 regions of Anatolia, adding five to existing provinces each year.

In this context, the 2023 festivals start at the end of April. It is included in the Cultural Path Festivals, both in Adana and Izmir. In other words, İzmir will participate in the Culture Route Festivals from 2023.”

‘WHEN IZMIR IS A PROBLEM…’

Ersoy stated that the Old Tekel Factory will also be one of the main meeting points for this festival.

Explaining that İzmir stands out with tourism, gastronomy and culture and arts, Ersoy said:

“Izmir is a city that can develop very quickly with tourism. I always say; When it comes to our big cities like Izmir, it doesn’t seem right to me to approach the issue politically. It is necessary to approach the projects warmly and to be participatory by correctly preparing the correct and necessary projects, infrastructure and scientific reports for İzmir.

In this context, we have the Çeşme Tourism Project within the scope of the Aegean Tourism Centers that we have prepared; you know.

Our work on this continues. Hopefully by the weekend plans will be cleared up and the suspension process will begin.

The theme I want to reiterate is; When it comes to our cities like Izmir, we should not approach the projects as a political party. We need to jointly own the projects that are correct and necessary for İzmir, and carry out the projects taking into account the caveats, if any, and making the corrections.

The future of İzmir is very bright, and I believe that the achievements of İzmir, especially in tourism, culture and the arts, will also be great in this future.” (AA)
