Union of bread producers: we will sell bread for 7.5 TL before December

There is a new rise in the price of bread in Istanbul.

The president of the Union of Bread Producers, Cihan Kolivar, who said that the cost of a loaf of bread at the moment is 7 liras and 30 kurus, told SÖZCÜ that the bread will be sold at 7.5 liras before December arrives.

This means that the bread sold in Istanbul will increase by at least 50 percent.

“We can not live. Kolivar said: “Whether the government or the president tries to prevent it, no one can prevent it.”

‘NATURAL GAS AND ELECTRICITY COME 40-50 Thousand TL EVERY MONTH’

* They tell us that you use industrial-type electricity and natural gas. Natural gas and electricity are constantly increasing. Let me put it this way, we pay no less than 40 thousand lira for natural gas and 40-50 thousand for electricity every month. They were supposed to prevent them. In particular, our first demand is the pricing of natural gas and electricity according to the type of home.

‘RENTS INCREASE 5 TIMES’

* The Ministry of Industry held a meeting with the yeast producers and they reduced the VAT on the merchandise on their inputs. But the yeast we bought for 240 lira turned into 350 lira. Few things sustain the baker. For example, shop rents have increased from 9-10 thousand lira to 50-60 lira. Think about store rents. We do not want to raise money at all, we are looking for a solution.

Stating that one of the biggest problems is the problem of capacity, Kolivar said: “The bakery that can make 10,000 loaves, the same worker, the same insurance, can produce 3,000 loaves with the same capacity. Bread costs 5 lira, but there are 500 bakeries in Istanbul that do not have a production permit. This figure rises to 1,500 with those without a license. There are 4 thousand bakeries in Istanbul. There is also unfair competition due to lack of control,” he said.

‘ONE BREAD COST 7 LIRA 30 COIN’

The cost of bread is currently 7 liras and 30 kuruş. Kolivar says, “This is the cost figure that comes out without putting in any extras, without putting in a profit.”

Saying that many people and public places prefer Halk Ekmek because Halk Ekmek increased production, Kolivar said: “2 months ago, the governor’s office called us, there are associations established by bakers in the districts and we also talked to them. It was said that it cannot be uploaded. The room had complained but we have nothing to do. We have to do this,” he said.

THE CITIZENS CANNOT EVEN BREAD BREAD

We asked citizens and bakers who bought bread about this decision and the possible increase in bread.

While citizens claimed they couldn’t even buy bread anymore and hadn’t seen that period, bakers said it could be even more than 7.5 lira due to current costs.

BAKERY: CAN EVEN MORE THAN 7.5 LIRA

Baker Erkan Karatas: “It can even be more than 7.5 lira. Costs vary for everyone, but in these conditions, even 7.5 lira is difficult. The price of bread has doubled in the last year. But our costs have tripled. The flour used to cost 180 liras, now it is 540 liras. Maya was 80 lira, now it’s 380 lira. I just got a raise today. They are not audited, but we are audited. My light was 12 thousand liras, 40 thousand liras came, natural gas came 40 thousand liras. We also fixed the oven, although we put it in economic conditions.

This was the case in both 2000 and ’93, but it was nothing like this. The bread has risen four times since last year. They wrote me a fine, 150 thousand lire. What is my meat, what is my leg? I don’t get unfair profit, the money I earn is halal to the end, but there is nothing to do.”

“There was no such period in Turkey”

Osman Demir: “I hope there will be 10 lira so that the voice of the nation is heard. The wages I pay for the things I buy have increased by more than 50 percent. I have never seen such a period. There was no such period in Turkey. There is a 100 meter queue at Halk Ekmek, we are husband and wife, just one loaf is enough for us.”

‘WE HAVE NO OTHER TOPIC’

Suphie Strong: “All flour prices have increased, what can we do?” say the bakers. I also bought buckwheat bread now. Of course, it is a luxury for me. The other bread was 5 lira. Wherever we go we are amazed. We learn not only about ovens, but also about the entire oven market. Yes, I think today will be 7.5, it will be tomorrow. I am shocked. I have it, my money and my bread in my hand. 19 lira.

I am very sorry for the crisis. We have no other topic. We talked to other friends in the markets, who we talked to at the checkout. We are all very sad actually, our smiles were frozen. So sorry. we’re all sorry. We’re in a bad mood.”

‘I SAW A REVOLUTION, I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT’

Ertan Capan Bilge: “What can I think, very bad. I can’t think straight. I have never experienced such a period. I mean, when I was a kid, in the ’40s, it was taken on a document. I have seen many revolutions since then, but I have never experienced anything like this. Expect it to rise even more. This situation is very difficult to improve.

Demet Narturk: “People who can’t even eat bread anymore. Everything goes up to 100 percent, to 200 percent. Just think, there’s a 100 percent raise even for bread. The bakers are right, for one thing, they get a raise for everything. We will not be able to buy bread for our house, there is nothing else to think about. We will starve.
