Record streak in car sales continues
Record auto sales continued in October.
The automobile and light commercial vehicle market grew by 55.4 percent in October, reaching 101,367 units, thanks to the increase in vehicle supply despite difficult financial conditions, and continued its monthly record series since the beginning of the year.
According to data released by the Association of Automotive and Mobility Distributors (ODMD), the market for automobiles and light commercial vehicles increased by 63.7 percent in the January-October period, reaching 958,942 units.
Auto sales rose 74.1 percent in October to 82,611 units, and light commercial vehicle sales rose a limited 5.5 percent increase to 18,756 units.
INCREASE OF 68 PERCENT IN THE FIRST 10 MONTHS OF THE YEAR
In the January-October 2023 period, automobile sales increased by 67.8 percent compared to last year, reaching 749,501 units, and the light commercial vehicle market increased by 50.6 percent, reaching 209,441. units.
