Car sales increased 55.9 percent in September

The Automotive and Mobility Dealers Association (ODMD) announced September automobile and light commercial vehicle market data.

According to data announced by ODMD; The market for automobiles and light commercial vehicles in September 2023 increased by 55.9 percent compared to September 2022, reaching 96,793 units.

In September 2023, automobile sales increased by 76.7 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 78,971 units, while the light commercial vehicle market increased by 2.4 percent, reaching 17,822 units.

The market for automobiles and light commercial vehicles increased by 58.1 percent in September compared to the average sales of the last 10 years.

While the automobile market increased by 69.3 percent compared to the 10-year September sales average, the light commercial vehicle market increased by 22.1 percent compared to the September 10 sales average years.

INCREASED 64.8 PERCENT IN THE FIRST 9 MONTHS OF THE YEAR

Turkey’s total automobile and light commercial vehicle market increased by 64.8 percent in the January-September 2023 period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 857,575 units.

In the January-September 2023 period, automobile sales increased by 67 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 666,890 units, and the light commercial vehicle market increased by 57.2 percent, reaching 190,685 units.

88.9 PERCENT OF THE MARKET ARE VEHICLES WITH LOW TAX RATES

88.9 percent of the market was made up of vehicles from segments A, B and C, which have low tax rates.

C segment cars got a 55.3 percent share with 368,503 units, and B segment cars got a 32.7 percent share with 217,978 units.
