Automotive production increased by 17.6% in 7 months

The increase in the production of the main automotive industry continued in July, reaching 27 percent in the first seven months of the year.

According to the data released yesterday by the Association of the Automotive Industry (OSD), the production of the main industry climbed to 135,360 units with an increase of 48.4 percent in July, while the increase in production amounted to 17 .6 percent in the first seven months of the year.

The 12-month production level, which reduced seasonal volatility and was 1.37 million units at the beginning of the year, continued to recover and reached 1.48 million units.

The domestic vehicle market, including heavy commercial vehicles, increased 109.4 percent to 116,063 units in July and increased 61.9 percent to 697,726 vehicles in January-July.

The light-vehicle market has been breaking records every month since January, driven by demand and increased supply, which remains on a strong course amid concerns that depreciation in TL will continue.

According to data from the OSD, total vehicle imports rose 170.5 percent and auto imports increased 181.2 percent in July.

Exports rose 35.6 percent in July to 80,875 units. (Reuters)
