Automotive production rose 19.9 percent in five months

Production of the main automotive industry increased 31.8 percent to 137,012 units in May, driven by the increase in automobile production.

The total market, including heavy commercial vehicles, rose 70.3 percent to 116,152 units.

According to data from the Association of Automotive Manufacturers (OSD), production increased 19.9 percent to 616,342 units in January-May, again with the increase in automobile production, while sales increased 60.4 percent. in the five-year period of the year to 466 thousand units, thanks to the increase in all sales, including heavy vehicles, they were 379 pieces.

INCREASE OF 16 PERCENT IN TOTAL EXPORTS

Exports from the main automotive industry, which is the country’s largest export sector, registered a limited increase of 9.4 percent in May. In May, 86 thousand 19 vehicles were exported and in January-May 2023, 415 thousand 276 vehicles were exported with an increase of 9.2 percent.

Considering the dollar value of exports, core industry exports increased 17.5% to $8.7 billion in January-May 2023, while supplies industry exports increased 13.6% to $6,000 millions of dollars.

Total exports of the automotive industry, meanwhile, increased by 15.9 percent and reached 14.7 billion dollars. (Reuters)
