Sales of commercial vehicles in Europe fell by 14.6 percent in 2022

The European Association of Automobile Manufacturers (ACEA) has announced the new commercial vehicle registration data for the countries of the European Union (EU) for 2022.

As a result, new commercial vehicle registrations in the EU decreased by 14.6 percent on the previous year, to 1,606,804, as a result of last year’s supply problems.

THE GREATEST DECLINE IS IN FRANCE

In 2022, sales of commercial vehicles between EU countries decreased by 17.7% in France, 16.7% in Spain, 11% in Germany and 10.5% in Italy compared to the previous year .

Among the 27 EU member states, France had the highest number of new commercial vehicles last year. During this period, 397,519 commercial vehicles were registered in France, 312,391 in Germany, 189,690 in Italy and 145,417 in Spain.

EVERY MONTHS OF THE LAST YEAR

New registrations of commercial vehicles in the EU decreased by 5.1 percent in December compared to the same period of the previous year to 148,149. Total sales of commercial vehicles in the EU therefore decreased annually by every month of the past year. (AA)
